The price was right, and it seemed the wise thing to do.
South Dakota girls and women ages 11 to 18 received free vaccinations Saturday designed to prevent cervical cancer in a scene to be repeated this year in clinics across the state. A total of 91 walked into a Sanford Health clinic in Sioux Falls to take part in a program that has broad, though not universal, support.
"It's a good idea for all girls to get it," Katelyn Prindiville, 16, a sophomore at Tea High School, said after her shot. "It's just to prevent the cancer and all that stuff going on."
