Kroger Grocery Stores Allow For Pharmacists' Consciences

The Cincinnati-based Kroger company recently reiterated its policy on the distribution of the morning-after pill (Plan B), Kaiser reports.
Kroger allows pharmacists to, for the sake of their own consciences, refuse to distribute the controversial "morning-after pill". Opposition to this contraceptive drug is rooted both in religion and medicine. It is an extremely high of "the pill," a common oral contraceptive which some studies have linked to such problems as blood-clots, depression, and breast cancer.
While Kroger allows its pharmacists to refuse to distribute the morning-after pill personally, the company does ensure that someone will be able to do so.
