Gardasil Too Spendy for Doctors

Gardasil, Merck's vaccine against the sexually-transmitted human papillomavirus (HPV) isn't quite as popular among physicians as Merck had hoped. The reason? It is very expensive.
To make a long story short, upon the advent of Gardasil's approval by the FDA, some physicians voiced reservation regarding whether they would carry the drug. Their concern was that it is a very expensive drug, and insurance companies might not be so eager to pay for it. It turns out they were right.
KAISER reports (even though they insist on calling it a "cervical cancer vaccine").
